Let's Talk Lumify

Lumify is a product that was released by Bausch + Lomb in 2018 with a new preservative free version released in 2024. It is a low-dose brimonidine that helps alleviate redness in the eyes, caused by dry eye, contact lens wear, allergies, or other environmental factors.

It has catchy gray/silver packaging that appears to stress beautiful eyes and a purple cap.

Some quick hits from the 2018 aggregation of four studies regarding low-dose brimonidine tartrate (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6587872/):

  1. What is Lumify?

Lumify is a .025% (low-dose) topical vasoconstrictor for relief of ocular redness. It is brimonidine tartrate. It reduces redness by decreasing the fluid within the eye leading to lower intra-ocular pressure.

  1. Is Lumify safe?

Yes. The results of the NIH analysis were that Lumify is safe to be used to reduce redness in the eyes. The analysis did suggest that other products might also work depending on the reason underlying

  1. Does Lumify reduce redness?

Yes. Four independent clinical studies evaluated Lumify by a variety of measurements. It reduces redness. The studies suggested that redness is relieved for at least eight hours and often much longer. Moreover, there is no tachyphylaxis (which means no reduction in efficacy over time - 29 days was the measured length).

  1. Where can I buy Lumify?

Actually, we were surprised to discover that Lumify is the #1 (7.5mL) and #2 (2.5mL) best seller in Amazon’s vision care section. The larger size (which is what Peeq sells) is currently listed at $21.74 on Amazonbut $20.99 on Peeq Pro. Obviously, you should buy it on Peeq Pro.
