Peeq Pro Foaming Cleanser: Breakdown and Benefits

The Peeq Pro Foaming Cleanser is a revolutionary eyelid and facial cleanser that bridges the gap between medical eye care and everyday skincare. Designed by Board-Certified Optometrists Dr. Christopher Wolfe and Dr. Cheryl Chapman, Peeq Pro was created to support patients with eyelid irritation and dry eye concerns—while still delivering a sensorial, spa-like cleansing experience.

This dual-purpose formula is both clinically effective and pleasant to use, making daily eyelid hygiene something you look forward to, not avoid.

How to Use the Peeq Pro Tea Tree Oil Cleanser

Using the Peeq Pro tea tree oil cleanser is simple and effective:

  1. Dispense 1–2 pumps onto clean fingertips
  2. Gently massage onto the eyelids, eyelashes, and face
  3. Cleanse manually, with a cellulose sponge, or using the Peeq Waiva
  4. Massage for 15 seconds, focusing on lashes and lids to remove makeup, oils, and biofilm
  5. Optional: leave on for up to one minute before rinsing

This routine helps thoroughly cleanse the delicate eye area without stripping or irritation.

What Makes Peeq Pro So Effective?

The power of Peeq Pro lies in its thoughtful blend of efficacy ingredients and sensorial ingredients.

Efficacy ingredients ensure the cleanser performs safely and effectively. Sensorial ingredients enhance the experience through texture, scent, and feel. There is intentional overlap between these categories, as many botanical ingredients provide both functional and experiential benefits. (Please note: the cleanser is not meant to be tasted.)

Tea Tree Oil & Terpinen-4-ol: The Star Ingredients

One of the most important ingredients in Peeq Pro is terpinen-4-ol, the primary active compound in tea tree oil.

Terpinen-4-ol has been shown to help eliminate Demodex mites and support the management of blepharitis, a chronic inflammation of the eyelids. It also has natural antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, likely due to its ability to disrupt the cell walls of pathogens.

These benefits make terpinen-4-ol a cornerstone ingredient for long-term eyelid and ocular surface health.

Gentle Surfactants That Remove Biofilm Without Irritation

Peeq Pro uses a carefully balanced surfactant system to cleanse effectively while remaining gentle on the eyes.

Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate serves as the primary biodegradable cleansing agent. It is combined with cocamidopropyl hydroxysultaine, which boosts foam and thickness, and cocamidopropyl betaine, which stabilizes bubbles and viscosity. A small amount of sodium chloride (table salt) is added to thicken and stabilize the formula, creating the rich, luxurious foam Peeq Pro is known for.

Together, these surfactants help break up biofilms, which are bacterial secretions composed of proteins and lipids that can clog oil glands. Biofilm buildup is associated with chronic dry eye, improper tear film balance, redness, and irritation.

Hydration & Barrier Support With Vegetable Glycerin

Vegetable glycerin is a well-established hydrating ingredient that has been used in skincare for over 50 years and is found naturally in the skin.

As a humectant, glycerin draws moisture from the air into the skin, helping support the skin’s natural moisture barrier. This allows Peeq Pro to cleanse effectively without leaving the skin or eyelids feeling dry or tight.

Sensorial Botanicals With Real Skin Benefits

Peeq Pro’s essential oil blend enhances both the sensory experience and the skincare benefits.

Lavender oil offers calming and antihistamine properties that may help reduce inflammation and discomfort. Peppermint oil delivers the cooling sensation associated with the Peeq experience while also providing antibacterial and antiviral support that can soothe itchiness and irritation. Oregano oil is rich in antioxidants and has antimicrobial properties that may help support overall skin clarity and tone.
