When you provide care to a myopia management family, do you ask where they heard about you and about myopia management? What do they say?
In our experience, the offices with consistent growth in myopia management understand where and how they get their patients. Many will come from a broad region but are connected to other patients.
It is rare that a myopia management practice grows exclusively through Google keywords, Ads, and search. But, does your office have a Google Ads or SEO strategy? If not, here are some things to consider.

For example, a recent research query on SEMRush a tool for analyzing keywords revealed that few people go to Google to search “myopia management”. Those that do are seeking information on the practices.
This search term has more traffic than others in the same category, and it appears to have a significantly higher search volume in the US than many similar terms. But, it is an informational search - not a transactional one. Contrasting this, “myopia management near me” is used much more less frequently but suggests an intent to purchase services.
It is lightly contested ($.04 competitive density is very low) but a transactional search - meaning people who search for “myopia management near me” have the intent to buy services.
It is also a low search volume. But, for our money, the correct term to purchase is “orthokeratology”. It illustrates commercial intent and is still relatively easy to purchase, and it tends to be searched more frequently.
Using a similar strategy to make sure that the search is relevant to the searcher - “orthokeratology near me” is an even better keyword to own for most practices.
It is transactional. It is not particularly expensive or competitive, and it is relatively easy to build a free SEO strategy towards.
In short, if you are an OrthoK office, you should be thinking about the various ways that people find you. One way is via Google search. What is your strategy?
