How to use
- Wash your hands. Before first use, make sure the tamper seal is intact.
- Remove the cap, tilt your head back slightly, look up and gently pull down your lower eyelid.
- Holding the bottle tip-down without touching your eye or eyelid, gently squeeze to release a drop into the pocket of your lower eyelid.
- Close your eye slowly so the drop spreads across the surface. Repeat for the other eye.
- Keep the tip from touching your eye, skin or any surface, then replace the cap right away.
- If you use other eye drops or eye medications, wait at least 15 minutes between them.
Put one or two drops in the affected eyes as needed.
What to expect
Most people feel more comfortable soon after the drop spreads, and the clear formula is designed to avoid the blur some oil-based drops cause. If you have eye pain, changes in vision, or continued redness or irritation, or if symptoms get worse or last more than 72 hours, stop using the drops and see your eye doctor.

What does "MGD" mean?
MGD stands for meibomian gland dysfunction, which happens when the oil glands along your eyelids don't release enough healthy oil into your tears. MGD Advanced is a lubricating drop; it relieves dryness and irritation but doesn't treat the glands themselves. If your eye doctor has diagnosed MGD, ask them how drops fit with warm compresses, lid hygiene and any in-office treatments.
Will an oil-based drop blur my vision?
MGD Advanced uses a clear lipid microemulsion that OPTASE describes as optically clear and non-blurring. A brief, mild blur right after applying can happen with any drop and usually clears with a few blinks.
Can I use MGD Advanced with contact lenses?
Yes. OPTASE lists MGD Advanced as contact lens compatible.
